Spiral bevel gears are bevel gears whose axes intersect, often at a 90-degree angle. The teeth are cut with a slight curve along their length and an involute profile. Although they can be considered a hypoid gear, they have no offsets. Spiral bevel gears are often used to transmit power through a right-angle. They are well suited for heavy-duty applications and can be designed for high-speed operations.
